Woman Docked For Stabbing Pastor In Osun
For allegedly stabbing a pastor in Ile-Ife, Osun state, a middle aged woman, Esther Olawale was Wednesday arraigned at an Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife.
The Prosecutor, Insp Emmanuel Abdullahi, had told the court that the thirty-nine year old accused person committed the offence on May 6, 2018 around 6:00 pm at No 11, Moremi line 10, Ile-Ife.
Abdullahi said that the accused assaulted one Pastor Kayode Oluwawemimo by stabbing him with broken bottle at the back and on his left hand which caused him bodily injuries.
He maintained that the offence contravened section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Esther Olawale who agreed to be tried by the court, however, pleaded not guilty to one-count charge of assault preferred against her.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Olalere Olaobaju, applied for her bail in most liberal term with the assurance that the accused would not jump bail but ready to produce reliable sureties.
Magistrate Ishola Omisade granted the bail of the accused in the sum of Two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000) with two sureties in like sum.
Omisade added that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means, resides within the court jurisdiction among other measures as he adjourned the case to June 18, for hearing.
