We Will Complete Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Before December – Buhari

President Muhammad Buhari on Saturday assured the people of the South West region that the on- going construction of Lagos-Ibadan expressway will be completed and ready for commissioning before the end of this year.

President Buhari speaking yesterday at a campaign rally that was held at Mapo Hall Ibadan, made it known that Lagos-Ibadan express way will be ready for commissioning before the end of this year.

He said, “The road and rail networking project is going to boost the economy of the southwest and Nigeria as a whole when completed, Ibadan the capital of Oyo State is one of the cities that will benefits directly from that road and rail project when completed.

“I have made it a mandatory for your son Raji Fashola Hon. Minister for Power Works and Housing and his counterparts from Ministry of Transportation Rotimi Ameachi to make sure that those projects both Lagos Ibadan express way and railway project be completed before the end of this year.

“I urged you all to go back to farm come this raining season, because last two raining season you all did well in farm and this has boosted our resources, we did not record much on rice importation in last two years now, and it is because we are committed to boost our domestic farmers so that they too can have sense of belonging in our government and that is the reason why we put a stop to rice importation in Nigeria.

“We are committed to the wellbeing of Nigerian masses, we will do more roads, power and so many other things but we need your support for all these to come to reality, make sure you cast your votes for APC so that the good work can continue, ” Buhari stressed.   

In his short address the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo urged people to vote President Buhari and vote out the oppositions with their index finger.

He said, “You all know President Buhari as an honest man, that can be trusted at all time, we should use our index finger to vote for him at this forthcoming elections, to sustain N-power program, home grown feeding programme, and others projects”.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Transportation,  Mr. Rotimi Ameachi said the rail project in southwest will be ready for commissioning before the gubernatorial elections.

He said, “Myself and Prof. Osinbajo will test run the rail project from Lagos to Abeokuta, as well as Lagos to Ibadan before the gubernatorial elections,  as you all known that when completed the project will ease the transportation problem in southwest part of Nigeria, it will even lessen the price of transportation in the region.

“You can see that Yoruba people have benefited a lot from this government, all I want you to do is that you should use your votes to speak for continuity of this government so that you all can continue enjoy more dividends of democracy.”

Also speaking at the rally the national chairman of APC  Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said, “the opposition parties in the country have killed themselves by themselves and they should not be given chance to come to power again, so that Nigeria will not go back to the era of looters, Nigerians resources are shared within themselves before Buhari came on board and now because there is no money for them to share they are nervous and desperate to come back to power, you should reject them with your votes.”

He said, “Atiku in an interview that was recorded on tape said that if voted into power he will enrich his friends, and my question is that are you poor masses friends of Atiku? Is the money that Atiku is claiming that he will enrich his friends with is it his own money,? No, Atiku wants to enrich his friends with your taskpayer’s money.

“Peter Obi also recently in a debate with our own Prof. Osinbajo had said that President Buhari did not need to be running after Nigerians looters and thieves because they are birds of the same feather, they are looters, and thieves they should not be allow to come back to power again because they will loot dry all our collective resources.” Oshiomhole said.

Speaking on behalf of the states governors present, the host governor Sen. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State said the coming general election is a battle between the retrogressive and the progressives.

He said “This coming elections is an going to be an election between the progressive minds and the retrogressive, It is an election between the agents of progressives that are ready to build and the agents of  retrogressive that are ready destroy, it is going to be an election between the darkness and the  light but I am very optimistic that we will all cast our votes for President Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo because they are agents of progressive that meant well for Nigeria and the Nigerians.”

The APC national leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in his goodwill message urged people not to allow anybody to lie for them, urging them to be focus and shun any information that are not genuine as regards the forthcoming general elections.

He said “some people have be shouting that we are going to rig this coming elections, I wonder why do we need to rig when we are having the support of majority of Nigerians, I believe they are the one that are planning the rigging because they do not have the majority at their side again, and that is the reason why they are now shouting at the top of their voices.

 “What I will advise you all to do is that you should all go out en-masse to vote for President Buhari and Osinbajo come February 16, use your PVC to return President Buhari and Osinbajo to power so that their good work can continue.

“And for those that are shouting about rigging, I think they should go and lay low if they knows that they are no longer relevant in politics again, ” Tinubu said.
