Village Head In Police Net For Defiling 15 Years Old Daughter In Ogun

Operatives of Ogun state police command have arrested a village head, Alhaji Rasheed Sholabi, the Baale of Oose Agbedu Ajibawo community of Owode – Yewa in the Egbado South local government area for defiling his 15 -years old biological daughter.

Sholabi, who allegedly started the incestuous act with the victim since she was aged 12, also fainted after his arrest and detention at the police custody in Owode – Egbado where the victim had reported the matter.

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital yesterday, said the village head was arrested following a complaint lodged with the police by the victim (name withheld) who now found it difficult to control her urinary system.

Oyeyemi further disclosed that the victim had lost her mother while she was barely two years old and that the suspect did not allow her to know any relation of her later mother.

The development, according to the PPRO, has however, left her with no option other than to continue staying with her paedophile father who used that opportunity to sexually abuse her from time to time.

“On interrogation, he first denied the allegation, but when he was confronted by the victim and one of his ex – wives who corroborated the victim’s statement, the suspect fainted and was taken to the hospital for resuscitation.

“His ex – wife informed the police that she caught him red handed while having sex with his daughter and that was the reason why she left him. The victim has been taken to Stella Obasanjo motherless baby home for safety”.

Oyeyemi further explained that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Edward Ajogun has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the Anti – Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for an in-depth investigation and diligent prosecution.
