UNILORIN Constitutes 13-man Committee On Training Of Artisans In Kwara
Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, has approved the constitution of a 13-man committee that will ensure provision of adequate training for interested artisans in Kwara.
This is contained in a memo signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mr Mansur Alfanla, and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ilorin.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Egbewole had earlier unveiled an initiative aimed at enhancing skills and productivity of artisans in the state and enable them to compete effectively with their peers elsewhere.
According to the registrar, the committee is headed by the Director of Institute of Education, Prof. Abdul-Raheem Yussuf, while the Deputy Registrar, Mr Olusegun Dopamu, will serve as Secretary.
He also listed other members as: Dr Taofeeq Lawal, Deputy Director, Consultancy Unit; Mr Ayodele Olorunfemi of UNILORIN Microfinance Bank and Mr Akeem Tiamiyu who would represent the Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (TEC).
“The committee also includes: Alhaji Jimah Ayınla Adeshina, Mr Adeleke Adedayo Samuel, Alhaji Usman Issa Opeyemi, and Mr Olaide Shobowale, all from the Congress of Artisans,” he said.
Alfanla highlighted that the terms of reference of the committee to include: developing the workshop curriculum and training modules and identifying and securing resource persons and facilitators.
Others were: coordinating logistics, venue arrangements and participants’ registration; overseeing publicity and outreach efforts to ensure maximum participation and evaluating the outcomes and impacts of the workshop for future improvement.
The registrar congratulated members of the committee and wished them a very successful assignment.
