Trade Fair: Why There Was Low Turnout-KADCCIMA

The Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), yesterday blamed the low turnout at the ongoing 40th Kaduna International Trade Fair on mis-information on security in the state.

Speaking on the low turnout at the fair, The President of KADCCIMA, Dr. Farida Dankaka said people are mis-informed about security issues in Kaduna state, adding that, the state is highly secured and have no iota of fracas going on in the state.

“Am sorry to say this, but the media is part of the problem. Kaduna state is safe, people go about their everyday life here but when there is little fracas at the outskirts of the state or in one small village, they project it in the papers saying Kaduna is insecure. This has greatly affected the turnout at the ongoing trade fair as well as businesses in the state”

“There are some companies who paid for space and because of the kind of negative stories they hear, they have refused to come, as you can see, the exhibitors and visitors are walking freely and going on with their business.

The Governor of Kaduna state, Mal. Nasiru el-Rufai has been doing a lot to make sure that the state is secured.

The Governor, every week, holds meeting with security forces like the police, the emir and other security personnel to make sure that the state is safe” she said.
