An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday remanded two men – Noah Kehe, 30, and Kàzeem Abodunrin, 35 – in Agodi prison for allegedly killing a trader, Olufunke Asaolu.
Chief Magistrate Modinat Àkanni remanded the two pending the receipt of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution to which the case file had been sent.
Akanni adjourned the case till December 19 for mention.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Kehe and Abodunrin, both of unknown addresses, were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.
The Police Prosecutor, Sunday Ojeleye, told the court that the accused caused the death 57-year-old Asaolu, a popular wine trader at Elewure, Ibadan.
He alleged that the duo shot Asaolu on Sept. 29 at about 9:45pm at her shop situated at Elewure.
Ojeleye said the offences were contrary to Section 316 and 324 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol II Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
NAN reports that if the accused are found guilty, they are liable to face the death sentence.
