Sudan Crisis: Second Batch Of Nigerian Evacuees Arrived In Abuja
The second batch of Nigerian evacuees returning from Sudan has arrived in Abuja.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) in a statement on Friday disclosed that about 130 returnees (128 females and 2 males) were airlifted by the Taco Airline B737-300 Aircraft.
The evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 3:15 p.m. and were received by government officials and others.
The 2nd batch of Evacuees: 130 Nigerian nationals; 128 females and 2 males that departed Port Sudan International Airport landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at 3:15 pm via Tarco Airline B737-300 Aircraft.
The first batch of Nigerians fleeing the crisis in Sudan arrived in Abuja late on Wednesday, May 3, and received ₦100,000 cash, each, for transportation to their various homes from the government.
They were also provided with dignity kits, ₦25,000 recharge cards and 1.5 GB of data from MTN.
A total of 376 evacuees landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja on Wednesday. An Air Peace plane, which airlifted 282 evacuees, landed in the country at 11:35 pm, while NAF C130 arrived at 11:55 pm with 94 evacuees.
