Ogun SUBEB Seeks Beverage Company Intervention In Education

The Chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board in Ogun state, Mr Jelil Okewole has, on Thursday eulogised the Nestle PLC for it’s different forms of educational intervention projects in the state.

Okewole spoke at a Corporate Social Responsibility  programme organised by Nestle PLC and  tagged Nestle for healthier kids cooking competition; where pupils of ST Peters Anglican primary school at siun, Obafemi Owode, were taught how to prepare balance deity.

Okewole who was represented by an Education officer , Ayoade Adedeji appeal to Nestle to extend it’s hands of charity to other schools in the state after commending the organisation for renovation of a block of classrooms in NUD primary school at Owode.

He said “We must appreciate Nestle Nig, PLC. For their good works which is targeted at ensuring that adequate cleaningness, Hygiene and sporting activities are made possible for our children, This programme is also targeted at ensuring  students happiness and healthier life.

“I am as well appreciating this organisation for their CSR projects going on at NUD primary school, Owode In Obafemi Owode local government area. All this put together among others that have not been mentioned has shown that Nestle PLC has really lived to expectation and I pray that may the almighty God continue to enlarge your coast and sustain your good gestures.

“Also , I’m using this medium to appeal to the school authority to reciprocate this good  gestures by transcending what have been done here to the communities around.” He added

Corroborating the state Chairman of SUBEB, Acting Education Secretary Obafemi Owode local government, Olubode Olusoga expressed his pleasure in what the organisation has been doing in the local government but further enjoined them to stretch their hands of charity to other schools in the local government and beyond.

“Nestle has always proven to be exceptional in all their dealing particularly in Obafemi Owode local government here. They made it their responsibility that, our children are healthy and doing fine all the time.

“Today isn’t a speech making day but, I must make you know how happy we are in this local government with this feat and we want to appeal to you to ensure that you extend your good gesture to other schools around.”

Also at the programme, the Parent Teachers Association Chairman, Alh Lamidi Yusuf also expressed his appreciation to Nestle PLC but also begged the organisation to ensure the building of a fence round the school for the security of the children.

He said ” we must thank Nestle so very much for what they have been doing, but we also want to beg them to please build a fence round this school for the safety of the children. “
