Students Tutored On Dangers Of Abortion, Hard Drugs
A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the National School Crime Prevention Corps (NSCPC), in collaboration with Charis International College has tutored secondary schools pupils on the dangers of early marriage and abortion as its crippled their educational careers.
Giving the lectures at Charis School’s premises, Old Ilaro Road, Oke Ata in Abeokuta, the Ogun state Commandant of NSCPC, Mr. Babatunde Ogunlami said students who engaged in social vices could also be lured into hard drugs or raping by cultists, adding that success and failure has a process.
He said the aim of the tutoring was to educate students on how to promote abstinence as a better and easier choice for all single people, to help students know, that there are many young people all over the world who have chosen to be abstinence before marriage and succeeding at it and to give students a chance to bring an end to abortion holocaust among secondary school pupils.
“Abortion is the present day holocaust because none of the war in human history has claims as many lives as abortion. Thousands of babies are killed every day through abortion”, Ogunlami said.
In his presentation, the Commandant General, NSCPC, Mr. Olayinka Ige said it is better for students to pass through the pain of discipline while in school than to pass through the pain of regret in the nearest future.
He said NSCPC would not relent on its campaign against social vices, particularly among students of Junior and senior secondary school in the country, noting that there would always be a law that would catch up with criminally minded students.
While urging the students to devote more time to their studies, Olayinka said students who are more prone to initiation are intelligent, big statured and die-hard students, calling on parents and guardians to monitor their children closely.
In her goodwill message, the Proprietor, Charis International College, Dr.(Mrs.) Adeyinka Onadeko appreciated the members of NSCPC for a well packaged lectures, especially on dangers of cultism and abortion which highly rampant in secondary school recently, appealing that same gesture should be extended to public schools and more private schools in the country.
