Akeredolu Urges Ondo Teachers, Students To Strive For Excellence

As schools resume for academic activities for the new session, Teachers and Students of Ondo State have been advised to pursue excellence in the teaching and learning process in the state.

Wife of Ondo State Governor, Her Excellency, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu gave this advice during her annual Back-to-School visitation at Stella Maris College, Okitipupa.

Nrs Akeredolu said the choice of Stella Maris College, Okitipupa was informed by the excellent performance of the school’s products who have come across her in her school programs in the state.

Mrs Akeredolu revealed that the school produced the valedictorian of the 2017 BEMORE bootcamp with an excellent performance of 100% in solar technology examination, and other bright participants in the just concluded 2018 boot camp.

She stressed that excellence is the only thing that can distinguish them and encouraged them to always strive for excellence.

Ondo State First Lady commended the principal and teachers of the school for raising the bar of excellence in their school which according to her is evident in the excellent performance of their products in the state and encouraged them to sustain the tempo.

The principal, teachers and students numbering over 2,200 trooped out en masse to welcome the First Lady of the State to their school for the first time in history since the school was established in 1960.

The immediate past Local Government Chairman, Mrs Morenike Alaka, led BEMORE girls in Okitipupa to welcome the Governor’s wife in the area.

It would be recalled that Mrs Akeredolu had in 2017 initiated the Back-to-School visitation exercise, geared towards encouraging teachers and students to take the teaching and learning process as a serious business at the beginning of every session, with Fiwasaye Secondary School in Akure as the first beneficiary.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of gift items to the school by the First Lady, cultural display by the students and testimonies from some students of the school who participated in the 2018 BEMORE Summer boot camp held in the state.
