Solders Burst Indian Hemp Gang, Recovers 63 Bags In Ondo

Men of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Ondo State on Wednesday said they have recovered 63 bags of cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) from a notorious gang in a forest in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations , Owena Cantonment, Capt. Ojo Adenegan, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Akure ,Ondo state.

Adenegan further stated that 23 expended cartridges and nine unused ones were also recovered from the gang.

According to him, the solders carried out operation in the forest, following a tip off on criminal activities of the gang in their hideout.

He informed that there was an exchange of fire between the troop and the criminals who later succumbed to superior fire from the troop and fled the scene.

His words, “The troop of 32 Artillery Brigade in Ondo State on Monday burst a notorious Indian Hemp gang in a forest in Owo.

“The troop recovered 63 bags of Indian hemp, 23 expended cartridges and nine unexpended cartridges”.

The Assistant Director, however called on the people of the state to always avail security agencies of useful information on any criminal activity in the state.

Adelenegan also warned criminals to stay away from the state ,“as there is no room for any illegality and criminally-minded persons in the state.”
