The management of Obat Oil and Petroleum has denied the story that its business premises in Apapa, Lagos State has been taken over by Skye Bank Plc based on a court ruling.
The company in a statement on Saturday said it was still operating from the Lagos office said to have been taken over by Skye Bank.
It described the report as “fictitious”.
It said in the statement: “We hereby refute the report and state categorically that there was no such incident.”
“Contrary to claims that the take over was approved and initiated by reason of the Federal High Court ruling, there is no ruling of the Federal High Court directing or authorizing Skye Bank to take over Obat Tank Farm/depot or its operations.
“There has been no take over of Obat offices/tank farm and operations, rather the Company’s offices have been operating at optimum capacity thus leaving news planted in the news media about its take over in bad taste.
“We therefore urge members of the public to disregard such news and publications.”
