Shell Nigeria Distributes $1m Relief Materials To Flood-impacted States
Shell Nigeria says it has distributed relief materials worth 1 million dollars to flood-impacted states in the country.
Essien-Nelson said the relief materials were distributed directly to the victims of flood-impacted communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Imo States.
The official noted that the gesture was consistent with the sustainability policy of the company.
“This gesture is one of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to make a difference in the environment in which people live and work.
“The gesture is to also foster and maintain relationships with communities, taking care to be a good neighbour and contributing to sustainable development initiatives,” she said.
In another related development, the official said the company had completed a golf tournament between serving and retired leaders of its operations.
Essien-Nelson explained that the competition was put together to serve as a platform for recreation and continued relationship between serving and retired leaders of its operations.
She noted that the golf tournament was recently hosted at Lakowe Golf Course, Lagos.
Essien-Nelson said the event, which was well attended, had the present Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), Elohor Aiboni, and one of its past Managing Directors, Chike Onyejekwe.
Present also were General Manager, Safety and Environment, Shell Nigeria, Elozino Olaniyan, and Vice President, Midstream, Henry Bristol among others.
