Secure Your Tomorrow, Expose Corruption- ICPC Charges Nigerian Youths
To secure their tomorrow, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC has charged Nigerian Youths to rise against corruption by exposing perpetrators.
The call was made in Osogbo Monday by a Chief Superintendent in ICPC Mr. Jimoh Sulahiman, at a one-day sensitization programme organized by Civil Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC)
Jimoh who lamented the havoc corruption has done to Nigeria urged youths in Nigeria to report corrupt practices, resist examination malpractices, refuse to give and receive bribe among numerous others and maintain integrity.
In his remarks, the Programme Manager, Mr. Kolawole Banwo who represented the Executive Director, Mr Awwal Ibrahim Musa said CISLAC cannot fold its hands and watch the resources meant for Nigerians go down the drain.
Banwo who posited that 70 percent of the nation’s income comes from the oil sector regretted that sooner than later, oil will neither be available nor relevant to existence.
He called on youths to be sensitive to what happens in their environment, ask questions and probe the implementation of the project if they are actually interested in their future.
In her presentation, the Director of National Orientation Agency in Osun, Mrs Beatrice Oluyomi Olasinde commended the whistle blower policy of Buhari administration saying it has assisted in exposing perpetrators of corruption in Nigeria.
Youths from tertiary institutions, National Youth Corps member, None governmental associations drawn from across the state were sensitized by stakeholders in anti-corruption crusade.
