Rudeboy Breaks Silence After Mr P’s Fresh Claims About Lola, Late Mother
Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reacted to fresh allegations by his twin brother, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, concerning their late mother and Peter’s wife, Lola.
In the eighth episode released on Thursday, he alleged that his late mother, Josephine Okoye, and other family members confronted him and Lola over their relationship shortly after the birth of their son.
According to him, a family meeting was held at his residence in Omole, Lagos, with their mother, brothers Jude, Rudeboy and Tony, as well as pastors in attendance.
Mr P alleged that neither he nor Lola was properly welcomed during the meeting.
“Everybody was seated. I went to call Lola. When she entered the room, nobody stood up or said, ‘Lola, sit down.’ Nobody even bothered to welcome her properly. Lola and I just sat on the floor,” he recounted.
Mr P further claimed that their mother told Lola that the family had decided she should end her relationship with him.
He also alleged that Jude made a derogatory comment about his infant son during the confrontation, which he said left Lola in tears.
“Lola started crying. The pastors tried to calm her. They pushed Lola out of the house,” he alleged.
Mr P further claimed that Jude and Rudeboy had opposed Lola’s pregnancy and that an anonymous email questioning the paternity of his unborn child was circulated within the family.
He, however, said their mother later acknowledged that the child was his biological son and asked his brothers to apologise to him, but that the apology never happened before her death.
Mr P also rejected claims that Lola had a poor relationship with his late mother, saying his wife supported her during her illness.
“When my mom was sick… Lola stayed with her in the hospital till midnight and took the pastors back home every day for over two months,” he said.
Rudeboy, however, has now responded to the claims in a brief social media post.
“Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” he wrote.
Although Rudeboy did not directly address the specific allegations made by his brother, his statement was widely seen as a defence of their late mother.
The latest development adds another layer to the long-running dispute between the former P-Square members, which has involved disagreements over family relationships, music royalties, business management and the collapse of their reunion.
Mr P has made several allegations against Jude and other members of the family in his ongoing series, which Jude has denied and maintained that some of the issues are already before the courts.
Rudeboy, meanwhile, has largely avoided engaging in the public back-and-forth, with his management indicating that the singer remains focused on his music career.
