Restructure Nigeria Now To Attain Balance, Says Tinubu
National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former governor of Lagos State, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Saturday broke his silence on the restructuring debate as he warned of the consequences of not engaging a restructuring of the political economy of the Nigerian nation.
Tinubu also explained that there were immense benefits to all in the event of a restructuring that would create the correct balance.
“It would be better”, he stressed, “to restructure things to attain the correct balance between our collective purpose on one hand and our separate grassroots realities on the other.”
The former governor counselled the champions of hate and disintegration to desist saying “separating the nation into small pieces resolves nothing and creates additional problems”, making it clear that his “quest is for a better Nigeria”.
He then added: “While nations more powerful and developed than us seek to pool their wealth and might, some of us seek to whittle this nation into smaller pieces”.
Tinubu, who was Principal Guest of Honour/Keynote Speaker at the 2017 Annual Dinner of the King’s College Old Boys’ Association (KCOBA) at King’s College, Lagos, was represented at the event by former Lagos State commissioner for Finance, Dr. Wale Edun.
