Rainstorm: Ogun Gives Succour To Victims

The Ogun State government has distributed relief materials to victims of the November 27, 2019  rainstorm at Ibefun, in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the State.

Following a post-storm assessment carried out by the State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA), the items provided included; roofing sheets, bags of Cement, bags of rice, mattresses, and other food items.

Speaking during the distribution exercise held at the Ibefun Police Station, Ibefun, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, revealed that although the intervention could not completely solve the problem faced by the victims, it was an effort geared toward easing their plight and showing his administration’s care for the people.

Abiodun, according to a statement made available by SEMA’s Media Officer, Mr. Sesan Shodunke, urged the victims to gratefully accept the materials as a token from the Government, saying, the materials were provided based on the degree of damage done to individual property.

The house of Assembly representative for the Odogbolu constituency,  Hon. Atinuke Bello, appreciated the Governor for remembering her constituency, saying,  “this government is a government of its word, we want to thank you for having us in mind’’, she said.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries Mr. Olugbenga Sadiku and Mrs. Ehinmodupin, commended the state government for the kind gesture, praying that the good Lord would continue to ensure his success till the end of his administration.
