Politico Unveils Platform To Sensitize Nigerians On 2019 Elections
Politico, established and powered by Last Media to report politics and governance in Nigeria, at the weekend, unveiled an online platform to sensitize Nigerians on the need to make adequate preparations for the 2019 general elections.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, the Publisher, Mr. Lai Omotola said that the problem with the nation’s electoral process has been lack of adequate preparations.
Omotola, flanked by Nasir Agbalaya , the Content Producer, Emmanuel Malagu , the Editor-in-Chief and Nduka Uzuakpundu, the Editor, said that the new Politico Timer will tell the people exactly how many days it is before the next general elections of 2019, for the Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship and State Houses of Assembly .
He said, “We have 441 days to the next general elections in Nigeria, but are the politicians and voters aware and ready? Who are the potential aspirants? Have they planned on what to do to get their campaign on the road? Are they in touch with the realities being faced by the masses across the nation?
“And, are we, as the electorate, asking them the right questions? These and other facts led The Politico to launch a timer, that tells us exactly how many days it is before the next general elections of 2019 for the Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship and State Houses of Assembly”.
Omotola said that the medium would ensure objectivity in its reporting of politics, adding that originality and creativity, where all sides are considered in a story, would be adopted by the medium.”
