Police Nab Suspected Killers Of Taraba Lawmaker

Taraba state police command has confirmed the arrest of three members of the kidnap gang that abducted and murdered member representing Takum constituency in Taraba house of assembly, Hosea Ibi.

The suspects, Muwagha Iorabagha, Aondouwga Hundi and James Gun all residents of Chekwaza village in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State according to the police were nabbed by detectives of the state command acting on reliable intelligence in various parts of Taraba state.

This was contained in a statement made available in Jalingo on Monday by the Police spokesperson, ASP David Missal.

According to the statement “They abducted Hon. Hosea Ibi on 31/12/2017, leading to his gruesome murder.

“One of the suspects Mwagha Iorabagha revealed that on the said date they conspired with Aondofa (gang leader) still at large, Tukura (at large) and went to the house of the victim, kidnapped him and conveyed him on a motorcycle riding by one Aondoungwa Hindi and took him to the house of Tukura the gang member.

“Investigation further revealed that Aondouwga Hindi participated actively by driving the motorcycle conveying him to Tukura’s house. “The first suspect was tracked to have used one of the phones stolen from the victims resident during the abduction for 15 days.

“One of the suspects, James Gun who resides in Jalingo, was contacted by Andofa, the gang leader who used the victim’s phone, Samsung Galaxy-Tab 7 that was taken from him.

“He asked James Gun to report at the State CID State Headquarters and bails one of his girlfriends, one Erdoo Iorliam who was detained at the state CID in connection with her friend’s criminal activities.”

The statement further adds that the state command under the leadership of CP. David Akinremi “in the last one month has recorded success in its operations and “clamped down on the activities of kidnappers, armed robbers, cattle rustlers, rapists among others.”

The Commissioner of police also urged the public to provide the command with useful information that will assist the police to rid the state of criminal activities and assured of the command’s unwavering support to the protection of lives and properties.
