Police Nab 28-Yr Old Man For Stealing Master’s Car
A twenty-eight-year old man, Solomon Boniface Okon has been arrested for stealing and absconding with his employer’s vehicle.
Solomon who was paraded along other suspected criminals at Oyo State Police Command Eleyele, Ibadan on Wednesday admitted and confessed to the crime but apologised to the authority to have mercy on him.
Confessing to the crime Solomon said, “it is true that I took my Oga car to Akwa Ibom and I was arrested in Akwa Ibom.
“I took Madam to University College Hospital (UCH) on that day but I don’t know what came over me as I just decided to take the vehicle to Akwa Ibom where I intended to sell the car.
“The police should take it easy with me, because I was aware that they came down four times looking for me in Akwa Ibom before I was eventually arrested, so I plead with them to please have mercy on me because all what I have done is a devils work.” Solomon said.
The victim, Mrs. Olufunke Obada said, “I am very grateful and give thanks to the police and SARS Oyo State Command for their diligent investigation that reveals the secret of the whole issue, if not for their diligence work we would not discovered the culprit behind the crime act.
“I employed the boy Solomon less than a month now and on that day I asked him to took me to the hospital for my medical check but I was astonished and amazed when I came outside of the ward to see that my car has been taken away and since then the police has sprung into action and they were able to recovered my vehicle and arrest the chauffer”. Obada explained.
Commenting on the incident, the Oyo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Abiodun Odude said, “Solomon an employer of Madam Obada absconded with his boss Honda CRV Jeep with registration number LSR. 782 DF.
“Having successfully stole the car, the suspect escape with the car to Akwa Ibom where he was arrested by our men the FSARS Oyo state police command.
“The suspected criminal was arrested in his hide out in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state. Upon his arrest, the suspect led the operatives to an hotel in the same town where the Jeep was recovered, and since the suspect had confessed to the crime, he will soon be arraigned in court for proper prosecution”. Odude expressed.
