PLWD In South/West Pledges 10m Votes For Buhari/Osinbajo

 

People Living With Disability in Nigeria (PLWD) across the South/West region have pledged to deliver 10 million votes for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday.

The group made the promise during the South-West Summit of Buhari/Osinbajo Support Group held at Mapo Halł in Ibadan on Monday.

The summit presided over by Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), Director-General, Presidential Campaign Council, in South/West was attended by 54 groups.

Prince Paul Adelabu, the Chairman, Board of Trustee (BoT), Joint Nation Association of Persons With Disability (JONAPWD), said they would deliver 10 million votes for the president’s re-election. “We have 27 million members across the nation and we are going to deliver nothing less than 10 million votes to re-elect Buhari/Osinbajo on Saturday.

“We are delivering the votes to Buhari/Osinbajo to appreciate him for assenting to the disability bill on January 23. From now, we will always celebrate Buhari every January 23,” he said.

Adelabu called on members of the association to vote massively for Buhari/Osinbajo on Saturday, saying the association has more than 10million members with PVCs.

Prof. Isaac Adewole, Minister of Health, said Buhari had done well for the region to deserve massive votes. “The president has done very well for the South- West.

‘‘Buhari loves us and we must also reciprocate that with massive votes. All he has done for us is more than what our leaders asked for,” he said.

Adewole urged the people to ensure that the president defeat his opponents with a wider margin, adding that it should be 90 per cent of the votes for Buhari.

Earlier, Oke urged the people to vote massively for Buhari for the region to retain the Vice-President seat, saying the region would greatly benefit more at the “next level’’.

He said that the president had a laid very strong foundation for the country to be consolidated upon if few years to come.

“Buhari has revived railway, roads, electricity and agriculture.

He has provided employment for youths and implemented several social intervention programmes.

“South/West is a habitat for several Federal Government investments. We are ready to give Buhari massive votes in the South-West,” he said.

The event also featured endorsements for Buhari/Osinbajo from the various groups drawn from across the geo-political zone.
