Plane Crash Report False-Dana Air
Dana Air has condemned a report allegedly carried by Ibom Telegraph which went viral on social media, alleging that one of its plane crashed in Lagos yesterday, saying that the report was false in its entirety.
Reacting to the report yesterday Dana Air in an official statement signed by the airline’s Media and Communications Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa stated “Our attention has been drawn to a report insinuating that a Dana Air plane crashed somewhere in Lagos on Sunday, 11 December, 2016” .
“We wish to state unequivocally that the report is entirely false and malicious, as it carries pictures and report of the previous incident”.
The airline further maintained that “At Dana Air, the safety and comfort of our guests and crew is a major priority to us and we will continue to adhere strictly to all local and international regulations in the delivery of safe, reliable and world-class air transport” .
“We also regret any inconveniences this may have caused our teeming guests, and we assure them that the issue is being investigated”, the airline stated.
Meanwhile, Dana Air has served Nigerian air travellers meritoriously in the past eight years.
Despite all the odds, the domestic airline has shown that it has all it takes to take the Nigeria air transport system to the next level.
Just last week, Dana Air successfully passed the International Air Transport Association IATA’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
Passing the audit means that the airline has scaled through the rigorous and highly demanding audit of IATA, and therefore, can be admitted by the international aviation body into its global safety registry.
The IOSA programme is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognized quality audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardized and consistent manner..
In terms of services, Dana Air has flown over 4.5 million passengers in eight years it operated in the Nigerian airspace.
In spite of the visible operational challenges in the industry, the airline has remained strong which can be attributed to the airlines’ consistency to its shrewd managerial style, passion and commitment of its staff and the unending support of its amazing customers.
