Panic As Fire Erupts In Ministry Of Health Building

There was panic in Abuja, Saturday, as the building housing the Federal Ministry of Health at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja was threatened by fire.
Reports say fire fighters were immediately on ground at the scene to put out the inferno.
Report from the ministry confirmed the incident, saying no damage to the building or property was recorded.

A Press release signed by Mrs. Boade Akinola, Director, Media and Public Relations of the ministry reads: “An electric spark from cables and wires resulted in a small fire on the corridor of the third floor, wing B of the Federal Ministry of Health Headquarters this morning.

“The private security outfit in charge of the premises swung into action and contacted the fire service, which responded immediately and put out the fire.

“There was no damage to any government property, neither did it affect any of the offices in the building.

“Media teams from certain outfits have independently accessed the building and recordings are available.”The Ministry of Health, where the fire broke out at the Federal Secretariat said it did not cause any substantial damage to it, as after  assessing the outbreak, it was clear there was no damage to any government property.

President of Union, Hassan Abbas, who was at the scene of the fire, said: “I received a message from head of security here in the morning and he informed me of what happened, and immediately we swung into action and inform all the directors. “But actually, the cause was just a spark of electricity, which is normal. Thankfully, it is under control now.”
