Osun Controller Of Corrections Wants Regular Jail Visitation By Chief Judge

The Controller of Corrections, Nigerian Correctional Service, Osun State Command, Olanrewaju Amoran has appealed to the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo to visit Ilesa and Ile-Ife Custodial Centres, for jail delivery exercises on a quarterly basis.

While soliciting for a cell within Osun High court premises for the processing and documentation of accused persons, Amoran also proposed the possibility of establishing Magistrate Courts in the vicinity of the Custodial Centres for quick dispensation of justice for minor offences.

The Controller, who was on courtesy/familiarisation visit to the Chief Judge at the State High Court Complex, Osogbo, Osun State thanked the Chief Judge for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.

Recall that the Chief Judge had during her tenure of office provided an office accommodation within the High Court premises for use by the Non-Custodial personnels of Osun Command of Correctional Service.

Amoran noted that the major purpose of the visit was to introduce and farmiliarise himself with the CJ being the head of the judiciary, a foremost component of the Criminal Justice System (CJS) in the state.

He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the CJ on behalf of Acting Controller General of Corrections, John Mrabure, for providing an office accommodation within the High Court premises for use by the Non-Custodial personnels of the Service.
