Osun 2018: Omisore Defects To SDP

* He Is Not Yet A member – Kola Oladeji

Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore weekend finally announced his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and formally declared for Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Omisore, who was the PDP governorship candidate in the 2014 election in a statement said his new political move would remain irrevocable and irreversible.

But a governorship aspirant on the platform of the party, Otunba Kola Oladeji, said Omisore is not yet a member of the party, let alone, be its governorship candidate.

The Osogbo-born businessman cum politician, in a statement he personally signed, copies of which were obtained by newsmen during the weekend, said fear of governorship primaries that forced Senator Omisore out of PDP, awaits him in SDP.

He stressed that no one will handover the party’s gubernatorial ticket to him, without going through the rigorous primary processes instituted by the party platform.

Chief Oladeji categorically stated that until Omisore is able to legitimately perfect his membership, he remain “just a friend of SDP,” insisting that records at his disposal have not shown that the former federal lawmaker is yet a member of SDP.

His words: On behalf of other aspirants on the platform of SDP, we demand free and transparent primary. Since we may end up having another aspirant bringing into the fold baggage of corruption cases, damaged reputation and questionable personality, I, Otunba Kola Oladeji has resolved to give all that it legitimately takes to win SDP governorship ticket and fly our party’s flag in the September 22, 2018 poll.

But Omisore argued that those who have “misconstrued” his personality to be arrogance are weak personalities with intent of mischief and practically vision-less.

According to him, the support of his supporters, followers, and the electorate of the state, informed his decision to seek the nomination to contest adding that by His grace, he would be. elected as the Executive Governor of Osun state on September 22, 2018.

“While I have always regarded the entire state as my constituency, as a democrat, I will continue to align with the forces of change that would guarantee justice, prosperity, peace and happiness for our peoples”, Omisore added.
