Osun 2018: Aspirant Outside Osun West Are Intruders- Orilowo
A governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun state, Engr. Adelere Adeyemi Oriolowo, has described any governorship aspirant from any of Osun East or Central senatorial districts as intruders.
According to him, the East Senatorial District has produced four governors and four deputies, and the Central has also produced three governors and three deputies while Osun West only tasted the plum seat of governor in two years.
Speaking at an Osun NUJ correspondent’s Chapel interactive programme tagged ‘News Point’ in Osogbo, Oriolowo insisted that for fair play, other senatorial districts aspirants should withdraw and allow aspirants from West district to slug it out.
“Apparently, West has not been Governor because Senator Isiaka Adeleke has not done two years before his government was truncated by military juntas”, he added.
He exonerated Governor Rauf Aregbesola from alleged “rumour” of having anointed candidate among the aspirants in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
He said, “it is mere rumour. My principal, Aregbesola that I know is not anointing anybody and he has never said it anywhere.
Oriolowo who lauded Aregbesola for what he described as excellent performance promised to build upon his legacy and as a technocracy and human resource manager see to the welfare of workers and the generality of the people of Osun State.
As a technocrat Oriolowo boasted that he has the best experience to lead the state adding that “if competent person is not put in place, it is either the state go backward or remain stagnant”.
He maintained that political experience is not enough to be Governor of a state, but technical expertise, project management, interpersonal relations and cognitive problem solving, are also central to success.
The Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP) boss noted that the agency, under his supervision has been ranked best in terms of performance, saying “as a result of Mr Governor’s commitment, the state of Osun did not only emerged as one of the five participating states in the Federation, it has been adjudged the foremost RAMP state in the country.
He said a total of 214.14km rural roads were rehabilitated throughout the nooks and crannies of the state under his watch.
