18,000 Osun Residents To Benefit From Imole Free Medical And Surgical Outreach
No fewer than 18,000 residents drawn from the nine federal constituencies of Osun State will benefit from the free mobile Surgical and Medical Outreach organized by the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital to mark the 100 days in office of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
As part of his campaign promise to expand quality health coverage to the people of the state, the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke approved the commencement of the quality free mobile Surgical and Medical Outreach that will hold in each of the  nine Federal Constituencies of the state.
Addressing journalists at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo on Thursday, Prof. Peter Babatunde Olaitan, the Chief Medical Director disclosed that apart from medical doctors domicile in each of the nine designated hospitals across the state, 40 doctors will participate in the surgery and medical outreach.
Prof. Olaitan who is the Chairman, Implementation committee of the Imole Surgical and Medical Outreach said not less than 2000 will benefit from the free medical programme from each of the nine federal constituencies in Iwo, Ede, Ikire, Ila- Orangun, Ikirun, Okuku, Ile- Ife, Ilesa and Ipetu Ijesa.

While commending the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for his concern for the welfare of his people, Prof.Olaitan noted that the governor has made necessary provision for effective and efficient outreach that will take care of patients irrespective of economic or social status, political affiliation among others.
His words: “Surgeries covered by the free mobile surgical and medical outreach include cataracts, Pterigium, Hernia, Hydrocele, Lipoma, Keloids, and some swellings  on the body.
 
“Medical conditions like hypertension, diabetes, malaria, cough, tuberculosis, and other diseases will also be treated by a team of medical practitioners assembled by the state government to make the quarterly programme a huge success.
 
“The Governor will flag off the Imole free mobile Surgical and medical outreach on Wednesday 15th of February, 2023 in Iwo Federal Constituency while other constituencies will follow immediately,” he added.
According to him, prospective beneficiaries are required to register at the designated centers to ensure that all intending patients are captured within the two days allocated to each federal constituencies of the state.
He disclosed that though the outreach will be coordinated by the Osun State University Teaching Hospitals, some doctors from the Obafeml Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAUTH) though a federal hospital have signified their readiness to participate in the outreach that will hold in
