Ooni Preaches Politics without Bitterness
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye eniitan Ogunwusi has charged politicians to approach the 2019 general elections with the mindset of politics without bitterness and prioritize growth, development and well being of Nigeria
Receiving Former Vice-President and PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in his palace Tuesday, Oba Ogunwusi appealed to whoever emerged the next president of Nigeria to ensure that the welfare of the citizenry come first above other considerations.
The royal father urged all politicians to join hands together to take Nigeria to the next level so as to overcome all the challenges facing her.
According to him, politicians should not make politics to be a do or die affairs, but should maintain peaceful coexistence in all their endeavours.
Atiku who lauded Ooni for his fatherly role said that the purpose of his visit was to take royal blessing from the source of Yoruba race.
Speaking at a rally in Osogbo, the state capital, Atiku charged the new Inspector General of Police and the Independent National Electoral Commission to be fair in dealing with all political parties.
While seeking the votes of the people of Osun State, Atiku urged them to ensure that their votes count through adequate monitoring of the electoral process.
Setting economic development, security of lives and properties, job creation among others as his agenda, Atiku insisted that Nigeria is today worse under the watch of the All Progressives Congress APC.
Also speaking, the National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus assured Osun electorate that the governorship mandate allegedly stolen by APC will be restored very soon.
He charged the people of Osun to repeat their commitment to PDP led governance by coming out in large number to vote for all the candidates of PDP in the forthcoming elections.
In his address, Princes Olagunsoye Oyinlola who said he spoke on behalf of 50 political parties that have endorsed Atiku said the APC government has failed to fulfil its electoral promises to Nigerians.
According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari promised Restructuring, Security and Buoyant Economy but has failed to deliver any of the promises.
The state chairman of the party, Hon. Soji Adagunodo promised Atiku Abubakar 80% of Osun vote.
Other speakers at the rally included, Chief Gbenga Daniel, Mrs Titi Atiku Abubakar who is an indigene of Osun, Chief Ayodele Fayose among others.
