Ogun TESCOM Appoints 262 Principals, VPs

The Ogun State Government has appointed another set of 110 Principals, 151 Vice Principals and one Zonal Secretary, as part of efforts to enhance smooth administration of the State Public Secondary Schools.
Speaking at the induction ceremony held at Lisabi Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, the Chairman of the Commission, Chief (Mrs.) Olabosipo Ogunsan, said the elevation was a call for higher service, which needed more dedication and commitment.
She maintained that the appointment was based on seniority, merit and time of certificate, advising them to lead by example and maintained good relationship amongst staff of their schools.
Ogunsan charged the newly appointed Principals and Vice-Principals to exhibit good character, be steadfast, dedicated, committed and live up to expectations, to justify their appointments, while calling for new strategies that would aid learning processes in schools, she urged them to put in their best and shun all forms of indiscipline that could affect the set goals and objectives of the school system in the State.
‘’Being a Principal, you must be accountable on everything within your care and ensure peaceful atmosphere in the school environment. I want to implore you to display high sense of responsibilities in tackling issues. No act of indiscipline and examination malpractices should be condoled’’, she emphasised.
Earlier in his welcome address, Full-Time Commissioner II of the Commission, Alh. Nojeem Macgregor, expressed gratitude to the government for boosting the morale of teaching and non-teaching staff of the Commission, noting that, excellent performance and competence among teachers would be continue to be promoted.
In his contribution, the Vice President, All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) in Ogun State, Pst. Lekan Dawodu, lauded the Commission for ensuring that teaching seniority list was strictly adhered to, saying the commission has indeed proven that it was a responsible and responsive employer.
Responding on behalf of the inductees, Mrs. Janet Abiola assured of their readiness to discharge their duties diligently and assist the State government by working tirelessly to give a new lease of life to education sector.
