Ogun Standard Projects To Outlive Generations- Olugbenle
The Paramount Ruler and Chairman, Yewa Traditional Council, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, has described the developmental projects being embarked upon by the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led -administration as a long lasting legacy projects that will continue to advance the socio-economic development of the State.
This was just as he charged all political aspirants vying for the gubernatorial seat in the State to shun hooliganism, hate speech and other acts inimical to the progress of the State.
Oba Olugbenle stated this while playing host to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi at the Council Secretariat, Ilaro, stressing that for the State to consolidate on the existing democratic gains, there was need for all political gladiators and the entire citizenry to promote peace and tranquility.
The Monarch, who described Speaker Adekunbi as a true ambassador of the zone in the maintenance of peace and promotion of credible governance, stated that he was optimistic that the Assembly under his watch would continue to partner other arms of government through all-inclusive legislations towards the delivery of more democratic dividends to all parts of the State.
Earlier in his speech, the Speaker lauded the monarchs for their advisory role and supports to the Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s administration in the actualization of the various people -oriented programmes.
According to him, the current government appreciated the co-operation, patience and resilience of the traditional institution towards its rebuilding mission, assuring that the 8th legislature would continue to synergize with other arms of government for the growth and development of the State.
Adekunbi noted that the support of the monarchs had added the necessary impetus which had helped in creating conducive environment for the promotion of good governance in the State, particularly, the formulation and implementation of government’s five cardinal programmes.
In another development, Speaker Adekunbi has commiserated with residents of Oke-Oyinbo, Igbogila in Iju Local Council Development Area of Yewa North over the storm that wreaked havoc on some structures earlier in the week; just as he called on the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to immediately evaluate the extent of damage with a view to providing relief materials to the victims.
Adekunbi, who was taken around the affected buildings by a Community Leader, Chief Samson Oderinde, described the incident as unfortunate, which had resulted into loss of valuables, promising that SEMA would provide relief materials to the victims immediately after evaluation.
