Ogun Home Owner Charter: Expect 4,000 C of O Monthly- DG

Ogun State Government says the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy (C of 0) under the Home Owners Charter Programme of the current administration to qualified applicants will soon be increased to 4, 000 monthly to meet the yearnings of applicants across the State.

The Director General, Bureau of Land and Survey, Mr Biyi Ismail , disclosed this while responding to questions from the members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Housing led by Honourable Adebiyi Adeleye at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Director General represented by the Special Assistant on Lands, Mrs Bimbo Odukoya explained that the process of issuance of Certificate of Occupancy under the Home Owner Programme was an inter-agency one which involves the Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, Bureau of Lands, Ministry of Finance, Internal Revenue Services and the Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation.

Ismail also assured that qualified applicants to the programme would get their Certificate of Occupancy before the end of the tenure of the present administration in the State.

He enjoined any applicants who needed clarification on the Home Owners Programme to call the designated call centers advertised by the Bureau, while stating that the bureau had been strengthened with more personnel and equipment to ensure improved service delivery.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman Committee on Land and Housing, Hon Adebiyi Adeleye explained that feedback on the acceptability of the programme being encountered by applicants across the State required that the issuance of C of O under the programme be fast-tracked.

Adeleye in company of Honourables Olayinka Ojodu, Israel Jolaoso and Julianah Akintayo, requested that the Bureau should also address land allocation issues inherited from the last administration raised by the allottees at Isheri River View Estate within the next two weeks.
