Ogun Govt Set Aside N17.3 b For Payment Of Gratuities

The Ogun State Government has earmarked N17.3billion for the payment of co-operative societies, gratuity and social service, from the funds collected from the payment of Paris club to the state government.
The state commissioner for finance, Mr. Wale Osinowo disclosed this at a briefing in Abeokuta, held at the governor’s office, Oke Mosan in Abeokuta.
He said that the government have paid salaries of workers as at due, adding that all hands are on deck to ensure that the State Government would not owed any Kobo before he left office.
According to him, he commended the civil servant for their patient and understanding in ensuring that the government paid their entitlements to all workers concern in the state.
He promised to pay pensioners, who are yet to collect their benefits, pointing out that the government was eager to conduct the 2016/2017 outstanding promotion as soon as possible.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of Joint Negotiation Council (JNC) Mr. Abiodun Olakanmi has called on the government to look into contributory pension of civil servant in the state to ensure the payment as earlier as possible.
