Obaseki’s Ex-aide Returns To APC
A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomole, has called for unity in the party’s quest to retain power at the federal level in 2023 while urging party stalwarts to work for victory in the Osun State governorship election.
The former Governor of Edo State, who stated this while receiving the former Political Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki, Ojo Asein, back to the party, said it was also pertinent for the APC to reclaim the state in the 2024 governorship election.
Speaking at the rally held in Sabongida-Ora, the headquarters of Owan West Local Government Area, he said the emergence of a former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, would help strengthen the party.
“We need to be united to ensure our electoral victory in Osun State and at the presidential election next year. We also need to return to power in Edo State.
“We are here to receive and reallocate a very beautiful room in our political family house to my son, Asein, and several others who have come with him.”
Oshiomhole also used the occasion to laud the emergence of Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the party and commended the APC governors from the northern region and the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who agreed that the presidency should return to southern Nigeria.
He also commended the Independent Electoral Commission on its innovations in checking rigging of elections and urged the people to ensure they register and get their Permanent Voter Cards.
He said, “The wealth of a leader is that your word must be your bond, I want to assure you that we will be back again and we will continue from where we stopped and Edo will prosper. United, we will win, we are united now, they are divided.
