No Scheme Unites Nigeria Better Than NYSC- Amosun

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has disclosed that there is no known scheme in Nigeria that unites the people of the nation better, than the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

 Governor Amosun who made this known, while receiving the new State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Josephine Bakare at his office in Abeokuta, said the scheme plays significant role in uniting the nation.

According to the Governor, ‘’as a nation, we should do more of things that binds us together and talk less about things that would divide us’’.

While pledging his administration’s support for the scheme at all time, Governor Amosun assured of improved condition of the orientation camp.

Speaking on the acceptance of corps members posted to ministries, departments and agencies, he said that as the industrial hub of the nation, the State has enough companies to accept the corps members.

Governor Amosun also revealed a governing board for the scheme would soon be inaugurated in the State, adding that Prof. Adebayo Adedeji, an indigene, who was the brain behind the establishment of the NYSC would be immortalized.

Earlier in her remark, Mrs. Josephine Uche Bakare, commended Senator Ibikunle Amosun for the  rapid development being witnessed  in the state, assuring of corps members’ loyalty, cooperation and readiness to partner with the developmental projects in Ogun State.
