Nigerians in Mozambique appeal to FG to send data capture equipment

Nigerians in Mozambique on Monday appealed to the Federal Government to send data capture equipment to process their passports.
The Secretary-General of the Association of Nigerian Citizens, Maputo chapter, Nwoko Ifeanyichukwu, told the News Agency of Nigeria on telephone that Nigerians in the country traveled to South Africa to process their passports.
Ifanyinchukwu said that Nigerians in Mozambique suffered a lot of hardship while trying to process the passports.
Ifeanyichukwu said: “We travel to South Africa to renew our passports or get new ones.
“The Nigerian mission in Mozambique lacks the capturing equipment to do it.
“We are forced to go to South Africa for such exercise. Some Nigerians without necessary documents are deported back home from South Africa.”
Ifeanyichukwu also said that the journey to South Africa was expensive and risky because Nigerians traveled through the bush.
He said that the population of Nigerians in Mozambique was big and that there was a need to send the biometrics equipment to attend to their needs.
He said that that Nigerians lived peacefully with their hosts and had remained law abiding.
