Nigerian Press Council Holds Workshop On Hate Speeches
The Nigerian Press Council is organising a capacity building programme on “Hate Communication in Nigeria: Identifying its Roots and Remedies for Journalists “.
The council said in a statement in Lagos on Wednesday that the workshop would be its contribution to sensitising Nigerian journalists and the general public on countering hate speeches.
The programme will be facilitated by Word and Image Ltd., a firm of communication experts.
The workshop is scheduled for Friday. Feb. 23, 2018 at Barcelona Hotels, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2. The council said that the objective of the workshop was to sensitive participants on the need to counter hate communication, which it said, had characterised the Nigerian political landscape in all channels of communications.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is expected to deliver a keynote address at the workshop.
