3 Ex-inmates Nabbed Throwing hemp Into Ilesa Prison Yard
Nemesis caught up with three (3) ex-inmate/convicts of Ilesa prison when officers of the prison arrested them while allegedly attempting to throw substance suspected to be Indian hemp into the yard of the prison.
A statement by the Command Public Relations Officer (CPRO), ASP Olusola Adeotan stated that the suspects, rented a storey building apartment many streets away from the prison where they strategically positioned themselves to carry out their nefarious operation.
“Due to the unrelenting efforts of the officers,  on 18th January, 2019, at about 12 noon, nemesis caught up with them while perpetrating the acts. After laying siege for some weeks.
Adeotan said that the three suspects have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Department of State Services (DSS), for further investigation and prosecution.
While commending the efforts of the officers who apprehended the suspects, the Controller of Prisons, Osun State Command, Mr Segun Oluwasemire enjoined members of the public to assist NPS in the discharge of its duties by resisting such an act.
According to him, any attempt to compromise such an illicit behaviors, will defeat the aims and objectives of imprisonmen just as he assured that NPS will not relent in its efforts in achieving its constituted responsibilities.
