Man Bags 3 Years Jail Term For Housebreaking
A 22-year-old Mathew Omoniyin was on Monday, sentenced to 3 years imprisonment by an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife for housebreaking and TV theft.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the convict committed the offence on February 15, 2020 around 07:30 am at Sabo, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the convict conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit: breaking and stealing.
He added that the convict of no fixed address broke into the house of one Yusuf Taiwo with intent to commit a felony therein.
According to him, the convict stole one LG 32 inches Led Television set, one Jiepav home theatre set, total valued N39,000, property of Yusuf Taiwo.
The Prosecutor stated further that the offence contravened sections 383, 390(9), 411, 412 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
