LASU Rusticate Student Over Gross Misconduct
The Lagos State University (LASU) has rusticated a student, Opeifa Adeshoye Yusuf from the Insurance/Faculty of Management Sciences over misconduct.
The institution stated this in a statement made available to journalists by the Centre For Information, Press & Public Relations of the Vice Chancellor’s Office.
The rustication was based on Vice Chancellor’s Prof. ‘Lanre Fagbohun approval on the recommendation of the Students Disciplinary Committee at its meeting held recently in respect of misconduct of Yusuf.
The student with matric number 150813065 was said to have damaged Main Auditorium and rusticated for two Semesters 2017/2018 academic Sessions. The decision takes effect from Monday, 28th May, 2018.
In a related development, the University authority therefore reiterated its commitment to the good attitude of Students as regards the sworn affidavit of good conduct at any Government Court of convenience.
It urges the students to act fast by swearing to the affidavit which it stated is in the best interest of the students as well as the University.
In view of this, the students are hereby reminded of the earlier directive to swear to the affidavit at a Government Court of convenience, and submit the originals of the sworn affidavit and receipt of oath to Students’ Affairs Division and copies forwarded to their respective Faculties/Schools.
The institution authority also warned some students who stay back in the school for overnight reading and move away furniture from the classrooms within the Faculties/Schools to read without returning the furniture to its rightful place and/or damaging it in the process.
‘’While the University Authority encourages the world-class students to take advantage of the provision for overnight reading on Campus, removal/movement of furniture from its rightful place or damage of any University property is vehemently frowned at.
To this end, students are strongly advised on the need to protect all University property and desist from removing and/or damaging furniture in Classrooms, the institution said.
