Lagos Shuts Schools For Children’s Day, Midterm Break

Lagos State Government has shut its Schools for the 2018 celebration of children’s day and midterm break.

It was learnt that though the 2018 children’s day celebration fell on Sunday 27th of May, 2018 , Monday was declared as public holiday for school children to celebrate with their parents.

This decision is coming on the heel of federal government declaration of Tuesday May 29, as democracy day.

In the same vein, some schools also declared midterm break which made the holiday longer than expected.

As a result of long holiday declared by some schools, it is expected that recreation centres and shopping malls will experience more patronage.

LASHBOL International schools, in a letter sent to parents stated, “please be informed that the school will observe May 28th (children’s day) and May 29th (democracy day) in compliance with Lagos State government. ” Our midterm break begins from 31st of May and June 1st, 2018″.

It was also observed that so many churches in Lagos also marked children day celebration with different activities.
