Lagos Gets New Head Of Service
The former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Mrs. Folashade Adesoye was on Thursday named as Lagos State new Head of Service.

Our correspondent learnt that Adesoye who will be saddled with the responsibilities of HOS, will carry out her functions in acting capacity following the decision of Lagos State Government to replace the embattled Head of Service of the state, Mrs. Olabode Ademola.

A top public government official told our correspondent that though there is no official statement from the government, “There is a moral burden, the state government must deal with in the whole issue. She would have retired from the system in November next years. She has to clear her name first. The new one is only acting.”

The state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, had also confirmed the development, saying, “Mrs. Ademola sought permission to be excused from her duty as the Head of Service while she proved her innocence in the allegation against her.

“The governor had granted that approval and appointed an acting HoS.”

It would be recalled that the former HOS along with her husband, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, had been accused by the Federal Government of fraud following a raid on their home by the operatives of the Department of State Services.

They were arraigned on 11 counts on Tuesday including conspiracy to receive gratification and receiving gratification of N30m from Joe Agi and Associates.
