Lagos Assures Distribution Of 3,000MW In First Quarter Of 2019

The Lagos State government weekend assured residents of generation and distribution of 3,000 megawatts through Independent Power Plants, IPP, otherwise called, embedded power, aimed at ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity in the state.

The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Civic Engagement, Benjamin Olabinjo and Coordinator Lagos embedded power, Funsho Popoola, gave the assurance, during a one day awareness programme on Lagos State Power Sector Reform Law 2018, in Alausa, Ikeja.

Olabinjo explained that the Power Sector Reform Law, 2018 targeted at protecting residents from estimated billings among other abuses on the part of distribution companies and would ensure 24 hours power supply.

According to Olabinjo, “We are here to shed more light on the power sector reform law recently assented to by Governor Ambode.”
