Koshoedo Urges PDP Members To Celebrate Eid With Hope Of A New PDP
Hon. (Arc.) Setonji Koshoedo, the Deputy National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has felicitated members of the Party for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In a statement Saturday, he noted that it is not mere happenstance that the Christians, a few days back, completed 40days fasting which led to the symbolic death of Jesus Christ which was celebrated with the resurrection of Christ, Easter, culminating to a rebirth of Christ’s believers and the Muslims almost at the same time concluding the  30 days fasting to round up with a celebration that resulted from restraints that lead to spiritual and physical rejuvenation for Muslims.
He therefore urged Party faithfuls to draw inspiration from these events of the foremost two religions for the rebirth of the Peoples Democratic Party just as it happens with the mythical Phoenix Bird which has to die and burnt to ashes for reinvigoration of a new life to become a pristine new bird.
These experience, Hon. Koshoedo said, can be likened to the current situation of the Lagos Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, which has gone through enough ‘deaths’ and about to resurrect into a new Lagos PDP.
Hon. Kosh, as he is fondly called, while wishing all happy celebration said “as we celebrate this significant Eid Firi, we must remember how broken we have been in PDP, just as in fasting, let us  guide our thoughts and prayers towards how we can all resurrect or rejuvenate our dear party, PDP, in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole”. According to him, it is important for steadfast members to put all distractions and defections behind them and begin to focus on reforming the party so as to bring back to life a PDP that all will be proud to be a part of. He thereafter  urged all PDP members across the nation to be calm as the reforms that will  lead to their dream party that will attend to the yearnings of the people, provide succour to Lagosians and Nigerians at large is already in making.
