Kidnappers Release Ekiti PDP Chief

Ekiti State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Financial Secretary, Mr Kayode Oni, kidnapped on Saturday has been set free by his abductors.

He was kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen at a location between Efon and Erio while heading to Aramoko Ekiti, the headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government.

Oni was said to be returning from Efon where he officiated at the party’s local government congress.

His abductors reportedly contacted members of his family and demanded a ransom of N30 million.

Confirming Oni’s release to reporters in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, Ekiti PDP spokesman Jackson Adebayo disclosed that the PDP chieftain was set free by his abductors Tuesday night.

He was however silent on whether any ransom was paid by the party or the victim’s family before he was released from the kidnappers’ den
