Kebbi Holds LG Polls July 15
The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission ( KEDIEC) has fixed July 15th as the date for the local government Council election in the state.
The Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Aliyu Mohammed Mera disclosed this to newsmen in his office shortly after a meeting he held with political parties in Birnin Kebbi.
According to him ” The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission in the discharge of the powers conferred on it by the laws , wishes to state that July 15th, 2017 has been fixed for the conduct of the local government councils in Kebbi ”
The Chairman further explained that forms and other relevant documents in relation to the election are available at the Secretariat of the Commission at No 4 Jalingo Crescent, GRA in Birnin Kebbi.
He urged political parties , stakeholders and the general public to take note and commence all necessary preparations in respect of the forth coming election.
Hon. Kabiru Muhammad Dabai who is the Commissioner in Charge of Media and Publicity of the Commission while shedding more light on the local government council polls also told newsmen that at least 28 parties will be taking part in the forthcoming election.
