A Petrol dealer identified as Mr. D. Alalade ,his wife and six others kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Ekiti were on Saturday rescued from captivity by combined forces of military men and police.
It was earnt that men of the Operation Flush, a joint security outfit in the state comprising the police, military men and operatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and of Ekiti State Command stormed the large forest where they were held hostage Saturday’s morning.

According to the  source, there was fierce exchange of bullets between the security men and the gunmen before they could be rescued.

The source said: “They requested for N20 million ransom from the oil dealer, they later reduced to N15 million. They were constantly making contact with the family of the oil dealer on the deal.

“As of  this morning(Saturday), the family could only raise a sum of N1.2m and that was the situation before the soldiers and police stormed the forest and secured  their freedom.”
