Institute Organises Training Programme On Islamic Banking

In its bid to deepen knowledge on Islamic Banking, The International Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, IIBF,  Bayero University, Kano has organised a 3-day Customised training on Islamic Banking and Finance.

The Director of the IIIBF, Professor Binta Tijjani Jibril said that the Zeal to expand and deepened knowledge on Islamic Banking necessitated the training programme held at the Centre for Management Development, Shangisha, Lagos

Speaking with newsmen shortly after the programme, Professor Jibril said that good knowledge of Islamic Banking would go a long way in getting the country out of its present economic quagmire.

She said that the bane of the country economic development is corruption which she noted has adversely affected the conventional banking practice.

Professor Jibril said some states in the country are now taking advantages of some of the core principles of Islamic Banking pointing out that Osun State is presently doing well with its Sukuk bond.

The Coordinator of the programme, Dr. Asif Olatubosun said that the idea of holding the training programme in Lagos was to expand knowledge and spread the benefits of Islamic banking to both Muslim and people of other faith.

Olatunbosun who is also the Chairman, Board of Director of Al-Hayat Microfinance Bank said training programme would be held in other parts of the country.
