Police Nab Man, 45 For Impregnating Own Daughter In Ogun
It was learnt that Ochim was arrested in Sagamu area of the state following a complaint lodged with the police in the town by his daughter (name withheld) that she was impregnated by her own father.
A statement issued Tuesday in Ogun by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi said Ochim has been having carnal knowledge of his daughter since the year 2009 when the mother of the girl died.
The incestuous affair however produced a baby-girl three years ago.
PPRO also said that the girl in her complaint lodged with the police in Sagamu revealed that her father always threatened her with cultural implication of not allowing him each time the girl resisted his sex advances.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but blame it all on the devil’s handwork.
“Ochim also confessed that he started having problem with the girl when she started going out with another person whom she said she want to get married to. He confessed that he was trying to prevent the girl from getting married so as to continue having his way with her”.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that the case be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.
