The Ondo state governor  Dr. Olusegun Mimiko , yesterday said he is leaving the state after the expiration of his eight years tenure in good hands.

Mimiko who spoke at the official handing over ceremony  to the governor-elect, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu yesterday evening, also urged the governor elect to ensure the sustainability of the peace currently being enjoyed in the state.

While assuring the incoming administration of his readiness to provide assistance after leaving the office  , the governor noted  that he is not leaving the state with any bitterness.
According to Mimiko, “I’m already looking forward to a day like this.  There is a season to come and a season to go.  We are not going with bitterness with anybody despite what we experienced in the last few weeks.
“what ever you need in terms of advice, information, strategy, just take it for granted that you will have it. I challenge you that whatever thing that is needed to be done, you must do them to ensure that the peace in the state continued .”
Earlier, the governor elect, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu assured the governor and the people of the State, that he will not let them down.
Akeredolu said,”you have left your imprint.  All we want to do is to serve this state and we will need some advice from those that are leaving now, so that the state will benefit from their wealth of experience. Not for Aketi but for for Ondo State.
“The state will continue to call on you for assistance, please don’t ignore us. I know that it is not going to be rosey, but  I can assure you that we will never give up.  History, no doubt will judge  you well. “
