Ihezue Ugochi Emerges 2017 MBGN Pageant Queen

Miss Kebbi, Ihezue Ugochi Mitchel, has emerged as winner of the 2017 Most Beautiful Girl (MBGN) in Nigeria pageant.
Ugochi defeated other 35 contestants to become the 30th MBGN pageant organized by the Silverbird Group at the event held at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, southwest Nigeria on Friday night, 15 September, 2017.
Miss plateau, Miss Oyo and Miss Bayelsa came in as first, second and third runners-up respectively.
Awards in other categories were presented at the ceremony before the top five finalists were announced.
Miss Yobe won the amity award, most photogenic award went to Miss Anambra, award for model of the year went to Miss Kebbi, and best traditional costume went to Miss Sokoto while the best evening wear award went to Miss Bayelsa.
The theme for this year’s MBGN is: ‘Say No To Domestic Violence’.
There were live musical performances by Harrysong, Olamide and Asa. Ugochi, a model signed on Elizabeth Elohor Aisien’s Beth Model Management, is taking over the crown from the 2015 MBGN winner, Unoaku Anyadike.
Anyadike reigned as queen for two years as the pageant did not hold in 2016.
As a model, Ugochi has featured in Look books for top women’s wear labels including Lisa Folawiyo and Tiffany Amber.
She did not only win the crown but also took the lead in”The Best Model” category of the show.
As the new MBGN Queen, Ugochi would represent Nigeria at The Miss World Competition.
Joining Ugochi on the train are Miss Plateau, Winfrey Okolo who will now represent Nigeria at the Miss Tourism Beauty Pageant; Miss Sokoto, Stephanie Agbasi (who also won Best Traditional Costumes) who will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant and Miss Oyo, Emmanuella Yaboh, all of whom will represent the nation in the Miss ECOWAS Pageant.
